The latest on the Sony PS3 price cuts…

At this year’s Gamescom, the world’s largest event for interactive games and entertainment, Sony took to the stage to announce price cuts for the PS3 to take immediate gloabl effect.

SCEE President Andrew House’s keynote on stage confirmed that the 160GB PS3 model now costs $249 in the United States and €249 in the EU and £199 for UK gamers. Amazon and Dixons have responded by dropping the price of the 160GB and the 320GB models. Amazon now stocks the PS3 160GB with a £192 price tag and the 320GB down to just £215.
