Tesla’s big battery issue
Tesla, the company that produced the popular Roadster electric sports car, was just hit with a bit of controversy. At least five Roadster owners drained their batteries to zero and could not recharge. The battery is among the most expensive components of the $109,000 vehicle worth about $40,000. The Palo Alto based company has responded to the controversy stating that owners are alerted several times when charge falls below five percent and that Roadster batteries can remain unplugged for weeks without running out of charge. Tesla recently unveiled its Model X SUV ahead of delivery of its Model S sedan to customers in North America and Europe later this year.
