Storm unveils 32-core cloud server

‘Storm on Demand’, the cloud computing and server hosting company has unleashed their 32-core managed cloud server earlier this week. The hardware which is now rentable worldwide has 32-cores, 1 terabyte of storage and 98GB of RAM for maximum performance.

The company which is a subsidiary of Liquid Web Inc, operates 3 data centres in Michigan, USA. The typical speeds of the new behemoth cloud servers are capable of 3.3Gbps write and 4.0Gbps of read speeds. It also features 2.0 GHz per core.
The best thing about the 96GB instance is that it’s only 85p ($1.37) per hour.
The only other comparable service is with Amazon Cloud Web Services, which comes with a 68.4GB instance and uses 33.5 for a cluster compute instance and this costs £1.24 ($2) per hour.

Storm on Demand has established quite a reputation for delivering high-performance cloud servers to its customers and in light of this news, numerous educational institutions have shown keen interest in using the service for scientific research.
