New Android OS: Ice Cream Sandwich screenshots revealed

Screenshots of Google’s new mobile OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, has been released showing new features and user interface

The next version of Google’s Android mobile operating system has been partially revealed through some leaked screenshots of a Google Nexus S loaded with the OS. Click here for the shots

From the screenshots, which were leaked to the sites androidpolice.com and rootzwiki.com, we can see some changes to the current version of the Google OS. The notification bar has been redesigned, the OS features a shiny new launcher and app-drawer and has a new blue tint. Other new features of Android Ice Cream Sandwich not pictured in the screenshots reportedly include a panorama mode for the camera and a re-tooled Gmail interface. According to Androidpolice.com, the shots are neither “a joke, prank or some cruel attempt to make you click things” and that they have “the utmost confidence in our source.”

Little has been revealed about Android Ice Cream Sandwich until now, with Google keeping tight-lipped as ever about almost anything other than the name. We have heard, however, that Google are planning to launch the OS, which will run on both phones and tablets, by the end of this year so stand by for more details in the coming weeks.
