HTC Consider Buying Operating System
Cher Wang, chairwoman of Taiwanese smart-phone maker HTC Corp., said the company is considering buying an operating system (OS), but is in no rush, according to a recent news report.
After the global PC heavy weight HP on August the 18 that it was planning to pull out of the tab market and stop work on it’s webOS operating system, HTC and Samsung have been trying to acquire it. This is possible to stop competition from taking the intellectually property or a response to a move by Google when it required Mortorola Mobility Inc.
In a interview giving to Economic Observer of China Wang said “We have given it thought and we have discussed it internally, but we will not do it on impulse”.
HTC have a reputation build on making unique products using different Operating Systems. The companies strength seems to relay on it’s middle-ware “HTC Sense” user interface which provides more user friendly features and better software integration.
