Gorilla Glass 2 to make a CES 2012 Landing!

Corning, the manufacturer of Gorilla Glass is set to make its debut of its next-generation Gorilla Glass 2 at next week’s Consumer & Electronics show (CES 2012).

As you might have guessed the first-generation Gorilla Glass was featured on popular devices like the iPad, iPhone, Android and HTC smartphones and even the Kindle Fire.
It seems everyone is excited to see a new form of the hard-to-break and scratch-resistant glass, even the tablet and smartphone manufacturers too.

Corning is apparently taking it one step further by including large HDTVs in its product range. According to rumours, Corning will showcase an 82-inch advanced multi-touch LCD display, home appliances, automobile interiors and a huge video wall.

Senior VP at Corning James Steiner delivered this statement:

Handset and tablet device manufacturers are clearly driving toward higher functionality from thinner designs. Corning’s latest innovation in Gorilla Glass technology is very well positioned to meet these challenges and enable broader touch technology penetration.
