Google Nexus Prime launch event has been cancelled?

In response to Apples iPhone 4S launch last Tuesday, Google planned to host their very own launch of the anticipated Google Nexus Prime and Android Ice-Cream Sandwich smartphones but sadly it wasn’t to be, as Samsung and Google cancelled the event.

The event was set to take place exactly one week after the Apple Keynote last Tuesday October 4th in San Diego, California. The October 11th event was supposed to showcase the next-gen Android mobile OS but both Samsung and Google released a statement which said:

We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.

The Google Prime Nexus smartphone specification are said to include a beautiful 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display to boast an impressive 1280x720p resolution. The processor is set to be a 1.5 GHz dual-core with a 5MP camera with 1080p HD video recording and an amazing 9mm thick form factor.
