Google+ has 10 MILLION users already!!!
Google’s latest social networking experiment might just be the fastest growing networks ever, having just recently passed the 10 million users threshold. Google+ is strictly speaking a baby in the Tech world, at just 2 weeks old the impressive growth has been made even more great by the short amount of time it took acquire those millions of users.
Founder of Ancestry.com, Paul Allen came up with the figures by taking samples of surname currently on Google+ and measuring them against the US census. Paul claimed that by the end of today (Tuesday 12th July) Google would have sailed past the 10 million members mark.
There have been increasing speculations that by the weekend the figure could double to 20 million Google+ users. In a post on Paul Allen’s Google+ profile he had this to say:
My latest estimate tonight shows approximately 9.5 million users. This suggests that 2.2 million people have joined Google+ in the past 32-34 hours.
I project that Google will easily pass 10 million users tomorrow and could reach 20 million user by this coming weekend if they keep the Invite Button available.
Although Google have refused to comment on the number of users, Chairman and former CEO Eric Schmidt admitted that there are already millions of users.
If Google were to continue with this tremendous growth then the sky’s the limit really. Provided they keep the invite button working I’m sure they’ll reach Facebook’s 750 million users in no time.
