Google develops Page Speed Service speeds up Websites by up to 60%

Google are in the testing stages of their new Page Speed Service, which rewrites websites and runs them through their services at an accelerated rate.

It seems as all the advances in commercial computer technology is still not adequate for the guys at Google as they are now developing a new Page Speed System which currently offers speed improvements of 25 to 60 percent in its current testing phase. This is all achieved through the process of Google taking content from your servers, rewriting the pages with performance-best practices and sending them out through its own servers. Naturally, the service has raised a few eyebrows but Google insists that Page Speed Service is all about improving performance, not collecting information for future advertising opportunities.

Is this just another avenue for Google to attain more domination over what websites we see? Leave your comments below
