Amazon Kindle tops 4 million devices sold in December!

Amazon announced that this year has been very good for Kindle Fires and E-Readers as over 4 million have been sold in December alone.
In addition to that self-published authors have also been delighted with the Kindle success, as the #1 and #4 best-selling Kindle books released this year were in fact published independently through the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).

Amazon’s Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos had this to say:

We are grateful to our customers worldwide for making this the best holiday ever for Kindle. And in a huge milestone for independent publishing, we’d also like to congratulate Darcie Chan, the author of ‘The Mill River Recluse,’ and Chris Culver, the author of ‘The Abbey,’ for writing two of the best-selling Kindle books of the year.

Throughout December, customers purchased well over 1 million Kindle devices per week, with the Kindle, Kindle Fire and the Kindle Touch in the top 3 spots of the best-seller charts.
