The end of an era, the Macbook has been officially discontinued!

You heard it right! The instantly recognisable laptop has been killed off by the machine which is Apple. In fact the lack luster Macbook has been showing signs of retirement for a while, with borrowed designs off of the Macbook Pro as well as previous generations. With the Macbook Air 11inch, the Macbook no longer was the cheapest option  for an Apple laptop, but for many, it was an essential item for managing their media. I definitely know multiple people who may cry when they hear the news. As an equal to the 13inch Macbook Pro for most specs, it was the cheaper option for those secret Mac lovers.

So what’s left now? With the imminent release of the new Macbook Air, will the 13inch Air base model fill the spot left by the Macbook, for a while now the Pro has been outselling the original Macbook, and the Air was close behind. With the white style not fitting with Apple’s brushed aluminium style found on the iPad, Macbook Air +Pro, Mini it was obvious that Steve Jobs wanted to unify the look of all of his products, and the Macbook Pro style Macbook from 2008 didn’t cut it.

Is it a sad good bye? Not really, it was the perfect time to retire the original Macbook, nobody liked admitting that they could not afford the Air or the Pro, so this Macbook was becoming unpopular especially with the option of the new light and beautiful Macbook Air!

Goodbye Macbook! We wish you a happy retirement.
