Nexus 7 Screen Issues
I was going to review the Nexus 7 recently, but after receiving it and using it for a while, I had to send it back due to me being one of the unfortunate people to receive a slightly faulty version of the tablet. The issue comes form a slightly mis-glued screen, or something of the sort, causing the screen to lift up a little bit. When pressed down, it pops back up with a little noise. Although some people were able to fix theirs (by tightening some screws) I didn’t want to try it more than once, in worry of breaking the screen. I sent it back and should be receiving a new one soon.
However, I did get to play with the Nexus 7 for a few days, and I was happily surprised by its overall design, speed and quality. I never imagined myself as an reader of eBooks, but the Nexus 7 delivers such a brilliant stock reader, I might just have to change my habits a little. The tablet is super fast & snappy. It was able to play the latest games (namely Dead Trigger) to the highest standard, utilising its brilliant Tegra 3 processor.
The size of the tablet is perfect – it fits nicely in my hand, and its weight is barely noticeable. It’s back grip makes for a nice firm grasp of the tablet when reading or watching videos. The Jelly bean update is brilliant, bringing lots of nice new features, my favourite being the new and improved notifications bar, and the “My Library” widget, or whatever it’s called.
I’ll be writing a more in depth review of Google’s Nexus 7 tablet shortly, when my new one arrives.
