HP to stop making Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, and Phones!!

Yesterday at HP’s quartely earnings review, the CEO Leo Apotheker, announced the eventual spin off of the PSG (Personal Systems Group) within 12-18months. This means that HP will no longer produce any tablets, phones and even laptops when they spin it off into a seperate company, and eventaully sell it. PSG is the largest manufacturer of PCs in the world. HP are attempting to focus more on enterprise and cloud services and solutions much like IBM in the sale of their computer division to Lenovo.

This is a sad a final death of Palm and HP as a PC manufacturer, now after this is sold, most likely to Acer, Lenovo or Dell, there will only be 2 major PC manufacturers in the stronghold that used to be Silicon Valley ; Dell and Apple. And as for american phone manufacturers recent events leave only Google (Motorola) and Apple, and possibly only Apple if Google kill Motorola for its patents. Leaving Taiwan and China as the PC capital of the world with Acer and Lenovo respectively.
