Final Fantasy 14 Open Beta

I was meant to be posting about the Final Fantasy OPEN Beta starting today, at 2:00PM (GMT), but unfortunately it’s been delayed due to “critical bugs” with are being fixed as wee speak. You can however start downloading the downloader. In 24 hours, mine’s got to 48%. -.-

Final Fantasy looks like a pretty awesome MMO, and for quite a while was No.1 PC pre-ordered game on Play.com, pretty impressive considering Black Ops’s release is on its way. Apparently (although not confirmed), all the screenshots that have been shown thus far are all playing the game and “50% Graphics” – they’ve got to be some pretty impressive graphics.

Although it’s slightly similar to the original FF MMO, No.1 XII, there are some drastic improvements, like a revamped and faster battle system, and a pretty cool feature: the ability to change classes on the fly. And from the trailers you can tell that some of the in-game scenery and cinematics are beautiful and would be great to explore.

I’ve pre-ordered the Collector’s edition, giving me access to the game 8 days early, and a few extra doodads.

I know this is Gadget Core, but I felt there’s room for different topics, such as these.
