Blackberry Playbook UK release

The BlackBerry PlayBook has been available in the US for a few weeks now, and looks like a great device. If you’ve been saving up to get your hands on one, you’ll be glad to know the UK launch is near, and prices have also been announced. Its best features include the ability to show presentations from it, link it to you Blackberry smartphone and access BBM, and the future ability to be able to run Android Apps!

RIM (Research in Motion) took the business world by storm with its early BlackBerry smartphones, and the company is looking to shake up the tablet market in an equally big way.

The BlackBerry Playbook is a 7-inch tablet, and it’s been on sale Stateside for the past couple of weeks. There are different models available to suit different budgets, with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB tablets all available.

Prices for the entry-level BlackBerry Playbook start at £400 rising to £480 for the 32GB variant, and £560 for its 64GB sibling. Aside from storage, other specs remain similar, with all models getting a 1024×600-pixel resolution and 1GHz dualcore processor.

A host of different retailers – including Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u – have announced that they’ll be selling the Playbook, with devices available form the 16th June.
