Apple going to announce an eBook creation tool akin to Garageband

According to Ars Technica, Apple will release an eBook creation tool, at its event on the 19th, focussing on content creation. While the tool will enable to the user to make eBooks it won’t be a totally professional tool, much like Apple’s Garageband. While this is going to be greatly useful to the majority it could come as bad news to publishers, with people being able to cut them out the equation. This has been the case with iTunes, and more recently, Games in the Appstore no longer needing a publisher’s backing!

Furthermore at the event Apple is rumoured to announce the latest generation of textbooks by the major publishers, for higher education, optimized for iPad, with interactive elements!
