Intel Cedar Trail delayed yet again, the possibility of an intel powered phone declining.
Intel’s second ill-fated go at mobile processor has ended yet again in more delays, to November, and soon, unless this is more powerful than the fabled “kal-el” quad-core, intel will no longer have any power advantage over their competition. After MoorStone Intel’s mobile future looked bleak, even more so when Nokia divorced Intel and left them with the unwanted love-child, which is Meego. Furthermore, the space left in this idustry is minute, HTC will stick with Qualcomm, Samsung make their own processors, so do Apple, and Motorola are owned by Google, pioneers of ARM technology. Of course they always are left a chance with the upcoming Windows 8 tablets, but the fact that Microsoft themselves lost faith in them by making a ARM version definitely tells us something, nobody wants, needs or thinks that Intel will exceed.
A long cry from the old days…
